Choosing a website format that works for you.

Marketing your artwork is not different than any other product you are trying to get the public to see and purchase. In this day and age of social media and internet purchasing, we as artists need to use all the tools at our fingertips. Not all artist have their works hanging in galleries with business managers handling their shows. Since I got on board with this new way of showing my art, I have signed on to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter along with this new website. Many of us don't have a lot of extra funds out there to have a professional site made for us or monitored and managed so I took it upon myself to use the left bankers brain of mine instead of the right brain for painting and created my own site. Ok, with the help of a great friend, but mostly myself. This is a fairly cheap site to run and quite easy for us not to computer savvy people. I am already not only noticing more people seeing and liking my artwork but have managed to sell a few that people have seen on social media. It is also a great way to advertise and spread the word on these social media sites when we are trying to promote a show we are in or a workshop we are teaching. Great feedback from fellow artists and a boost to the ego when people comment how much they like your work. So right brained artist friends, get on the bandwagon and go with the new generation of social media. Since our art club has gone this route, we have saved so much money on mail outs and newspaper ads. I hope you like my new site and my artwork. Thanks for checking it out and hope to see you following my future posts.
